ANN HEWITT 1857
This is the last will and testament of me ANN HEWITT of Krays Lane,Carlisle,being of sound and disposing mind,memory and understanding,I bequeath unto my nephew JAMES HEWITT a large cupboard,two tables and chest of drawers at Rockcliffe and one arm chair,six chairs a brass pan and a toast pricker at Carlisle.I bequeath unto my niece ISOBELLA SMITH a feather bed,the bed linen, and a choice of my wearing apparel bequeath unto to my niece JANE WILKIN the clock,a chest of drawers,the corner cupboard with its contents,one arm chair,two chairs and there tables.
I nominate and appoint THOMAS JOHNSON sole executor of this my last will and testament,he paying all my just debts and funeral expences.In witness whereof the said ANN HEWITT have top this my last will and testament set my hand this tenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty.

signed by the said ANN HEWITT in the presence of us as witness.
