ELIZABETH HEWITT 1743

Whereas ELIZABETH HEWITT of Baitin Bush in the Parish of Kirk Andrews on Esk otherwise Kirk Andrews on Esk in the County of Cumberland,spinster deceased is dead,intestate,leaving behind her MARGERET HEWITT of Banklioad? in the said Parish.

Know all men therefore by these present that the said MARGERET HEWITT for diverse good causes and considerations and thereunto moving have and by these present do require the letters of administration of all and singular goods,chattels and credits of the said ELIZABETH HEWITT my late daughter,deceased and do consent that the same way be granted and committed to my daughter JANE the wife of JOHN IRVING of Longtown in the parish of Atheret in the said County.And to her and that this my proxy of administration and council may have its due effort of law.I do hereby authorise,constitute and appoint JOSEPH NICHOLSON,gentlemen, and LEONARD SMITH ,gentlemen hereof the Proctors of the Consistory Court of Carlisle in the said County of Cumberland or any other Proctor of the said Court.Jointly and severally to be my true and lawful Proctor or Proctors for me and in my name to appear before the Chancellor of the said Court or his surrogate or some other capable judge in their behalf to pray and procure this my proxy of administration and council to be auditors and executors and to do all other all matters and things lawful or necessary on my behalf in the provision and what ever my said Proctor or either of them shall lawfully do or cause to be done and I do hereby ratify and comfirm.In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of July in the year of our Lord,one thousand seven hundred and forty three.
