Know all men present that we;JANE HEWITT of Batimbush in the County of Cumberland,widow,RICHARD LIVINSTONE of aforesaid in the County of Cumberland,yeoman,and JOHH GRAHAM of ?head,in the County of Cumberland

At Carlisle August 11th 1753
On which day appeared personally JANE HEWITT widow, and alleged that GEORGE HEWITT late of the Parish of Batimbush in the Parish of Kirk Andrews on Esk and diocese of Carlisle,yeoman,deceased and died intestate without making a will,so far as she doth know or believe,that she widow and relic of the said deceased,wherefore she prayed letters of administration of all and singular goods,chattels and credits of the said deceased to be committed and granted unto her giving good sufficient security on that behalf.
the said JANE HEWITT was sworn in due form of law to the truth of the promises and to faithfully administer and to the truth of the inventory by her exhibited.
