MARION HEWITT 1617

In the name off God amen,The 22nd day of September Anno domini 1617 yeares. I MARION als MALLY HEWITT within the Parish off Rockcliffsicke in body yett whole in mynd and perfect rememberence,praised be to God,maketh this my last will and testament in and off the witness off and written so following .

In the first I give and bequeath my soule to Almighty God my saviour and my bodye to be buriyed the churchyard of Rockcliffe my funeral expenses being discharged,

Item;I give and bequeath unto JANNAT HEWITT lawfull wyfe to my sone ARTHOUR HEWITT one blak ewe ,one brown sterr ,one yard talsse ,one couldren and two brasse potts,one pewter drinker,one lhyning shette and three Warllon sheetes ,two bundles off hemp yharne,one browne cotte,two gymmer sheepe,2 ewes ,2 young sheepe ,and one chest.

Item;I give and bequeath unto my daughter MARGERET wyfe to THOMAS JACKSON in Newtown one yard towe,one blankett chest ,2 pewter drinkers,one new brasse panne ,3 warllon sheetes,one stonetrough,one bedde blankett,3 shetes off lynin ,2 cowes,one pair off shoes ,2 gymmers,2 ewes ,2 geese egges ,one pair off new understokes.one pair off warllen sheetes,one pair off shoes,one dress and one sashe,one new gily clothe. .

Item;I give and bequeath to my son inlaw EDMUND IRWING,one ewe,one gymmer sheepe ,one gooses egges and one new shirte.

Item;Igive and bequeath unto ANN HODGSON my brothers daughter,2 goose egges , one couldren and one stonetrough,

Item;I give and bequeath to MABEL HEWIT my daughter my law my whole cornes to suchtime the lambes born ,to whom also I give and bequeath the rest of my goods,moveable and imoveable.I doth constiute and devise her the said MABEL to constitute appoint my only executrix.IN witness ROBERT HEWITT,JAMES HEWITT,ROBERT NIXON and JOHN MOODY.
