MABLE HEWITT 1661

The last will and testament of MABLE HEWITT of Rockcliffe,being in perfect health and memory at ye making herself this 13th of January 1656

First I give my soul unto Almighty God ye gave it trusting in the merits of ye Christ for life everlasting in Christs glory,and my body I wish be buried in Rockcliffe church yard for that temporal effects of worldly goods whereof God as blessed me,to dispose of in manner and form following.

Item; I give and bequeath unto HENRY HEWITT my son now of Rockcliffe ,one acre of arable land called Crooked Acre bought off WILLIAM ROBINSON of Cargo also one other acre of arable land called Honnel acre bought of JAMES STORY ,being in Acre bye Cargo Holme.

Item;I give unto my eldest son WILLIAM HEWITT five shillings for a legacy.

Item;I give unto Mary HODGSON daughter of WILLIAM HODGSON one Castletowers,one pair of shoes and one couorsuaols.

Item;i give all my goods ,moveable or immovable also my funeral expenses,first paid.I give and bequeath unto my son HENRY HEWITT whom I make my sole executor for this my last will and testament,i set my hand and seal as the date above.
