ROBERT HEWITT 1810

I ROBERT HEWITT of Walby in the Parish of Crosby Upon Eden in the County of Cumberland,Yeoman.Do make and publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say give and bequeath unto my nephew ROBERT LINTON the sum of six hundred pounds and unto ELIZABETH WARWICK who lives with my executor the sum of one hundred pounds.I also give unto JANE the wife of WILLIAM BELL and niece of my late wife the sum of twenty pounds to be paid unto her own hands for her separate independent use of her said husband and her receipt alone shall be sufficient discharge for the same,Also I give and bequeath unto MARTHA wife of WILLIAM COLLIN one other niece of my late wife the sum of ten pounds and unto ELIZABETH the wife of JOHN HETHERINGTON of Lavisdale Loving end the sum of ten pounds all which legacies are to be paid one year after my descease.Also I give and bequeath unto the CHILDREN of JOHN HETHERINGTON and MARY HETHERINGTON late of Crosby deceased she being a niece of mine and they being nine in number the sum of twenty five pounds apiece to be paid severally attaining the age of twenty one years,but such of them as shall have attained that age in my lifetime shall, receive his or hers legacy at one year after my decease and if any of them shall die in my life time or before his,her or their legacy or legacies shall become payable,I direct that such legacy or legacies to be paid equally unto and amongst the survivors of them but in regard to such of them as shall die leaving a child or children shall have and take the legacy which his or her parent would have been entitled to if living and as all there residue.,and remainder of my houses,securities of many goods,chattles and real estate and effects whatsoever or wheresoever after payment of my debts,legacies and funeral expenses and subject thereto.I give and bequeath the same unto my nephew JOHN LINTON whom I hereby constitute and appoint sole executor of this my last will and testament and hereby revoking all former wills by me made.I declare this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the eleventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine.

ROBERT HEWITT signed sealed,published and declared by the named ROBERT HEWITT. as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness thereto.
