REBECCA HEWITT 1856

This is the last will and testament of me REBECCA HEWITT of Rockcliffe in the Parish of Rockcliffe in the County of Cumberland.I give and bequeath unto my sister ANN HEWITT my two cottages at Rockcliffe situate at the East end of my property occupied bya JOHN WALLACE and MARY CURUTHERS as tenents,also the one half of the orchard and garden in front of the said cottages during her natural life and then at the decease of my said sister ANN HEWITT unto my nephew JAMES HEWITT his heirs and assigns for ever,After my just debts ,funeral and testimony expenses are paid.All the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects and personal at Rockcliffe consisting of all the other of my dwelling house,out houses and the other half of my said orchard and garden with that portion of land called Peat Moss I give and devise and bequeath unto my nephew GEORGE WILKIN and unto my niece JANE WILKIN their heirs and assigns equally,subject to the payment of twenty pounds which I give unto my said nephew JAMES HEWITT the said sum of twenty pounds to be paid unto him at the end of twelve calendar months after my decease.

And I do hereby constitute ,nominate and appoint my said nephew GEORGE WILKIN and my said niece JANE WILKIN joint executors of this my last will and testament laying aside all other wills or wills by me named.In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six.

Signed sealed and published and declared by the testator REBECCA HEWITTas and for her last will and testament,in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other here subscribed our names as witnesses.
