At Carlisle May 5th 1789
On which day appeared personally MARY YOUNG and alleged that THOMAS HEWITT late of Rickergate within the Parish of St Mary,Carlisle and diocese of Carlisle in the County of Cumberland,Cheesemonger and Batchelor,deceased and dying without making a will,so far as she doth know, or believe,That he was the said lawful sister and sole next of kin to the deceased,wherefor she prayed for letters of administration of all and singular goods,chattels and credits of the said deceased to be committed and granted unto to her the said MARY YOUNG giving good and sufficient security in that behalf.
the said MARY YOUNG was sworn in due form of law to the truth and promises and to faithfully administer and to exhibit a true inventory and soforth as required.
