Hewitt Family Wills
THOMASINE HEWITT 1813
This is the last will and testament of me THOMASINE HEWITT of Bramwell in the County of Cumberland,widow.
I give and devise to my daughter MARGERET BARNFATHER all and singular,my freehold Land and Premises whatsoever situated at Bramwell aforsaid.To hold to her and during her natural life and I direct that the same shall not be subject to the debts,control or engagement of her present or any future husband,she may have and after her deseacse.I give and devise the same or produce thereof unto and equally to be divided amongst the children lawful begotten of the said MARGERET BARNFATHER living at her decease I give and bequeath unto her the said MARGERET BARNFATHER the sum of one hundred pounds and all my personal estate and effects whatsoever except the legacies herein after given.I give and bequeath unto JAMES HEWITT of Brampton Cooper the sum of forty pounds.I give to WILLIAM HEWITT of the same place ten pounds.I give unto JAMES HEWITT the younger ten pounds give to MARY HEWITT,widow, thirty pounds.I give to MARGERET HEWITT her daughter ten pounds.I give to ELIZABETH YOUNG ten pounds.I give to JOHN IRWIN ten pounds.I give to TOMASINE BARNES ten pounds.I give toTHOMASINE MUSGRAVE ten pounds.I give to ANN LENOX thirty pounds.I give to ELIZABETH DAVIDSON ten pounds.And I also give to THOMASINE IRWIN ten pounds, which said several legacies I direct to be paid at the end of twelve months after my decease to such that shall be of age and to such as shall not when they shall severally attain the age of twenty one years and I direct that the legacy given unto my daughter MARGERET shall not be liable to the debts of her husband.I give to my grandson JOHN BASRNFATHER the clock now standing in my dwelling house.
Thereby constitute and appoint my daughter MARGERET BARNFATHER and WILLIAM HUTCHINSON of Brampton,Gentleman joint executrix and executors of this my last will ,thereby revoke and declare void all former and other wills be me made and declared this only to be my last will and testament,In witness whereof I have to this my will set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord,one thousand eight hundred and twelve.
