WILLIAM HEWITT 1764
In the name of God ,amen,I WILLIAM HEWITT of Beaumont otherwise Beaumont In the County of Cumberland,yeoman,being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory and understanding[Praised be to God for the same]I do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following,that is to say,First I give and bequeath unto my two daughters MARGERET HEWITT and JANE HEWITT and their heirs and assigns all and each of my houses and enclosures,lands and tenements with their each and every rights,numbers and appurtenances situate,lying and being at or within the township,town,teritories,liberties or precincts of Beaumont or otherwise Beaumont in the County of Cumberland to be equally divided between them,share and share alike.To have and to hold all and each and every of my said freehold closes and enclosure,lands and tenements and hereditaments, with there and every opportunities unto my two said daughters MARGERET HEWITT and JANE HEWITT their heirs and assigns for ever.But in case my only son GEORGE HEWITT or his heirs do and shall pay unto my said daughters MARGERET HEWITT and JANE HEWITT the sum of one hundred pounds apiece of current British money when and soever they shall attain the ages of twenty one years,that then the said aforesaid bequest of my freehold,closes and enclosures,lands,tenaments and percuneries unto my two said daughters and their heirs shall cease determined and become utterly void of no effect to all and singular my goods ,chatles,cattle and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever of what kind or nature or quality so ever be the same be of my debts, funeral expense being first paid and satisfied.I give and bequeath unto my dear and loving wife MARGERET HEWITT and I do hereby appoint and constitute my said wife MARGERET HEWITT sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and disannuling all and other former will or wills made by hereto made.
In witness whereof I the said WILLIAM HEWITT have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty four.
